Hi everyone, I’m Greg — the very first leopard gecko rescue to arrive here, and wow, what a journey it’s been. When I was first brought in, everyone thought I was a boy. But after some time, a few good meals, and a lot of healing, my true colors started to shine and surprise! I’m actually a girl. I guess you could say I like to keep people on their toes.

When I first came to the rescue, I was scared of everything. I didn’t understand what was happening or why people were trying to help me. Every movement, every sound felt like something to run from. I had been through a lot before arriving here, and trusting anyone again seemed impossible.

But my caretakers never gave up on me. They spoke softly, moved slowly, and showed me that hands could bring comfort, not fear. Day by day, I began to realize that I was safe no more hunger, no more cold nights, just warmth, care, and love.

Now, life looks a whole lot different. I love exploring my enclosure, peeking out when someone walks by, and watching the world from my favorite hide. I’ve even made a special friend Clover another leopard gecko who understands what it’s like to start over. We spend a lot of time together, and her calm presence makes me feel at home.

I’m still learning to trust completely, but I’ve come so far from the frightened little gecko I once was. My story isn’t just about surviving it’s about learning to believe in kindness again. And someday soon, I’ll be ready for my forever home one filled with gentle hands, warm lights, and a heart that’s ready to love me just as I am. 💚
