Hades’ Story – The Spicy Snake With a Spicier Personality 🐍🔥

Hey there, I’m Hades — a spicy snake with an even spicier personality to match. I like to think of myself as a bit of a mystery: bold when I want to be, chill when I feel like it, and always keeping my humans guessing. Life’s been a little twisty for me (no pun intended). My original owner had to move and couldn’t take me along, so I ended up staying with their roommate for a while. She wasn’t really a “snake person,” but she did her best, and I appreciate that my free spirit just had other ideas.

When I first arrived at Happy Scales Rescue & Rehab, I wasn’t quite sure what to make of everything. There were new people, new smells, and a whole lot of curious faces watching me. I decided the best approach was to take things slow you’ll usually find me hanging out in my hide, where it’s quiet and cozy. Every now and then, I’ll poke my head out to check on things… mostly to see if it’s lunch time.

I’m still getting used to this whole “being handled” thing. I don’t mind a gentle pat on the back here and there, but being picked up? Yeah, that’s going to take some convincing. Don’t worry, though I’m not mean, just cautious. It’s going to take some time for me to warm up, but I know I’ve landed in a good place where people are patient and kind.

Maybe one day I’ll decide that being held isn’t so bad after all. Until then, I’ll be here ruling my enclosure like the spicy noodle I am, keeping everyone guessing, and reminding them that trust takes time (and maybe a few extra snacks). 💚
